Retreat Fees

As an off-grid center on protected land with limited guest capacity and the ability to be open only 5 months a year, Vallecitos exists under unique conditions. What makes us unique and magical also poses unusual financial challenges.

Despite these challenges we maintain a commitment to making Vallecitos as affordable and financially accessible as possible. To this end we offer a sliding scale in addition to scholarships.

We trust that you will choose the highest amount you are able to pay; the 3 offerings on our sliding scale reflect between 60-85% of Vallecitos’ actual costs.

The rest of our funding comes from fundraising. If you are able to make an additional tax-deductible donation to support Vallectios’ continuation and robust scholarships, there is a place to do so on your registration form. Thank you in advance!

Below are descriptions to guide you as you choose a retreat rate:

Highest Rate: Choose this rate if you have financial abundance and security, and/or personal or generational wealth.

Middle Rate: Choose this rate if you are unable to afford the highest rate.

Lowest Rate: Choose this rate if anything more would put your finances at risk.

*Retreat fees include all meals and accommodations. Optional add-ons like shuttle transportation and a comfort pack are extra and can be selected during registration. For Dana-based retreats, dana (optional offering for teachers) is separate and given at the end of your retreat.

Registration Process

Please see our retreat schedule to select a retreat. From the retreat’s page, you will be able to click on the “Register Now” button to register for your chosen retreat, select your accommodation, and select your retreat payment amount.

Please note that a 50% deposit is required to complete your registration and reserve your spot (unless you are applying for a scholarship). Also note our strict cancellation policies below. If paying your deposit causes hardship, please contact us.

For application-based retreats, click on the “Apply here” button to submit your application. If/when you are selected for a retreat, we will send you a link to register and a deposit is due at that time.

*If you are applying for a scholarship, select your accommodation type at the lowest rate and then under part 6 of the registration process where it asks you to select your payment, choose “Apply for a scholarship” as your payment option. (Scholarships are not available for self-led retreats or stays in the hermitage or tent camping.)

Cancellation Policy

Late cancellations are costly and mean that others cannot attend retreat. Please contact us immediately if you plan to cancel your retreat. Refunds are based on your total retreat registration fee. Shuttle and comfort pack fees are fully refundable regardless of when you cancel.

Refund schedule:

45 days prior to retreat: Full refund, minus a $150 nonrefundable fee
44-22 days prior to retreat: 50% refund
0-21 days prior to retreat: No refunds

Wait List Policy

If a retreat is full, we highly encourage you to sign up for the waitlist. The waitlist typically moves quickly and spots become available on a regular basis. No deposit is required to be placed on the waitlist.

If an opening occurs, you will be notified right away with specific parameters on how and when to confirm your attendance. We request that you reply quickly to these notifications so we can make openings available to as many people as possible. Thank you in advance for your understanding!

Please note that our wait list policy is based on meeting the needs of both you as our guest and Vallecitos as a small retreat center. We handle our waitlists with great care, taking into consideration numerous factors in the way that waitlist spots become available.

Out of consideration for Vallecitos and your fellow waitlisters, please let us know if you no longer wish to be on the waitlist.

Adding Items or Paying Your Balance

To add items such as shuttle or comfort pack, please contact us with the details of your request. We will send you a statement with a link to pay for additional items. Please know that any balance due within 30 days of the start of the retreat will be automatically charged to your credit card.
